UG STAND UP!
KEKO is a female MC hailing from Uganda. I like this song, I can tell by her attitude she knows she's hard. Can't wait to hear the rest of her sound.

BOARD WALK EFFECT
I am a fan of HBO's Boardwalk Empire. The acting, setting, design and script are magnificent on this show. Curious as I am, I came across footage of how those grand settings are tidied together using strong CGI Effects. The edit designers are the best butI knew this had to be some magic trick.
CULOE DE SONG IN THE HOUSE
one thing I love so much about South Africa is the house and kwaito music. I came across this video of CULOE DE SGONG, a young talented house artist. It features the vocals of late South African legend Busi Mhlongo. It's a hot track and the video is just hotter. Comment if you like it too. Blessings XO

Environmental Art is not new, it's just we don't have enough of it happening.
ECO-ART is everywhere but I particulary was made aware of it when I was introduced to the work of Eco-Art Uganda, it is pioneered by this Ugandan artist BRUNO RUGANZU. I was very inspired by what Eco-Art Uganda does which is using recycled material to make Art, making it a double edged sword of environment and art consciousness. Fabulous idea! Bruno is also a painter and like Kader Keita, works with the community in Uganda to make sure people know that recycling has a greater use.

‘I am not handicapped, either in mind, or in heart.’
I've been introduced to a very inspiring man by the names of Kader Keita. He's a well known artist of Malian decent. I am a firm believer in Mali being the creme de la creme of artistry in music and painting, in literature too. Well Kedar is the kind of artist that believes everyone can use what ability they have to bring the plight of humanity to the rest of the world. Very wise man. I totally agree, this is my mission and I hope it is yours too.

What I'm momentarily reading
THE CATCHER IN THE RYE by the late J.D Salinger is his top selling book about a boy named Holden Caulfied, who after flunking his classes is expelled from school. It is ridiculously funny and enlightening. I like it so much, it's my fifth time reading this.A favourite of mine. :-)

TINASHE'S MUSIC MAKING
Tinashe is a UK musician. We did an interview with him for What's Up, he was an absolute gentleman. He performed a song for us which he had just written hours before our meeting. It was awesome!! I ended up writing this little poem about his love for what he does, music.
Tinashe's Music Making
Here is a class artist,
He sits on a piano under watchful eyes
Lost in a song of awesomeness
His touch is soft, it is delicate as a surgeon
Key by key,
he beams while playing this fixating song
He interjects to say "I actually wrote this last night"
His attention is soon unshattered by the lenses watching
without intention I reciprocate to his beautiful song
with a little dance and hand clap
the sound of his new song sounds like,
a little bit of Blues, a little bit of soul,
a little bit rock n'roll, a little bit of modern pop
His music delivers all, and African rythmns are its root
A class act of his calibre with a skill so well mastered
His song composition is engaging, reaching deep into a
soul,
inspiring me to piece together a song just as beautiful
Often in my generation Music loses its magic;
I’m lost in Tinashe’s music making!
His song is now indeed my new favourite sound
It's utter perfection!

gotta Love ED
I recently just came back from a Live Acoustic lounge at Finsbury Park's World End. I admit, I singularly went there to see this genius of a singer named Ed Sheeran. I first heard Ed through an invite to a Poetic lounge where he did a collaboration with another artist, Isaac Ssebandeke twitter account, http://twitter.com/IsaacSsebandeke. On hearing his EP, LOOSE CHANGE, I loved him. Ed is a charmer and I know that because, he never ignores my twitter comments and his lyrics to his songs say it all. I was riding solo again (call it De ruloling), but I've become comfortable that way, less distractions when i'm a t gigs, the better for me. i'm there to listen to good music! Anyway there were other great acts, all playing with guitars like Kal Lavelle, Tabitha Benjamin and Stephen Long. Check out their twitter pages. Ed Sheeran was my higlight. His set was close to an hour straight, and I couldn't fully enjoy it, because I had to record his every sound, echo. He is just that amazing. I cried when for 10 minutes, I thought my camera was recording but it was not recording a thing. Check the footage on my tumblr www.trudyfabulous.tumblr.com.

Better L.E.D than never...
I'm not early to blog about the L.E.D Festival but yet again better LED (late) than never. I showed up at LED, on my own riding solo like De rulo. A little, I was there about 8pm, while regretting having missed PROFESSOR Green and his chav raps, Sub Focus and the Mighty GOLDFRAPP (Qui. i managed to miss Goldfrapp on a free ticket, foolish and bitter me!) Anyway, I headed straight for the funky section, raving a long with other raving heads who clearly made sky rocket business for Fosters, Guiness etcetra. Anyway, they had a great lineup of Skepta + Boy better Know, collaborating on some GRUNKY stuff (Grime+Funky=GRUNKY!), David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Audio Bullys, Zinc, Annie Mac, SHY FX, Aphex Twin (always thought he's a weird one yet i carry him on my iPod). I loved Leftfield's set. They were the last act and got us moving with their Los De Rio's Makarena remix. I makarenad and everybody makarenad! They however had some serious Rasta vibes which made the crowd reciprocate with their blazing of grass, herbb, plant whatever its called, it had me on a temporary artificial high! The vids take donkeys to upload, So i'll post when ready...

...The return of the blogger.
I feel just like Kanye coming back from a hiatus. I ran out of gas at some point and
ran away from blogsphere world. I'm back with balls of energy.
I should stress that I'm digging into this world of fantasy and story-telling, yes I have always been queer. I mean filmmaking and story telling! I'm exposed to immense banging and uber cool music. I've also discovered an array of wickedly awesome musicians one of them being Ed Sheeran, artists and curators so will share on this. The blog will discuss politics here, there and everywhere. I leave you with a musician whose songs seem to be talking about my exact lifestory. AMY MACDONALD...(She's a Scottie & so young to be this very talented)

THIS Week....
I've been completely immersed in ECKHART TOLLE's big seller "A NEW EARTH". This book is unlike most self-growth books,it is about bringing you into conscious thinking and if you ever thought happiness was about celebrating your achievements, this book will make you think again! Apparently to Tolle, btw who has been recommended on Oprah's Book Club, Our happiness is not tied to any content or material we possess, it is found with acceptance with whatever situations we find ourselves in, "good" or "bad" orderly or disorderly! Ahhh....I Loved it, you can't think the same after reading it!..."BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY...Read A NEW EARTH"
